Hi there,

I'm doing a large outdoor environment and would like to render fog over my scene (atmospheric perspective) that doesn't affect the environment (a backplate, HDRI, etc.).

The screenshot is from a LearnSquared course using Redshift. He renders environment fog that does not affect the background, which is great to easily composite the 3D scene with a backplate in the PV.

Is this possible in Octane? Because I've searched everywhere and I think the answer is no. I realize this is doable with a depth pass in comp, but would be nice to do directly in Cinema.

Thanks!

You can do this with AOVs and Global Texture AOVs... https://docs.otoy.com/cinema4d/GlobalTextureAOVs.html
Puget Systems / Intel Core Z790 ATX / RTX 4090 / Cinema 4D
