I'm using (for the first time) the crytomattes-Object node name to separate my scene objects into EXR masks that I can use in photoshop.
I'm using the EXR IO plugin to open the EXR and manually extract each layer to an alpha to a beauty rendered file. At first this process only make it work but for a large amount of different still image scenes I've found it a very slow process, but again, at least it works. The only issue I got is that I get a gap between each object selection and the only way I've found to solve it, it's to select each object mask in PS- select and mask and expand the Shift edge about %25 in order to remove each mask gap.
This seems to do the job, but I have to render the scene 8 times from different angles and export the separated parts. Although it works I was wondering if there's any setting in C4d Octane Render to solve that gap, making sure the saved EXR masks doesn't have that problem?
Pretty sure I'm missing a step to get this work, but as far as I've read here at the forum, it seems a lot of people are having the same "gap" between selections problem, both in photoshop and after effects.
It would be great to have more tutorials and instructions regarding this process. I think it's a great option to save masks but definitely needs some adjustments to get rid of that annoying gap.
Thanks
