Hi everyone,

Is it possible to use an AOV in the material editor?

I want to mix two materials with the help of the "irradiace AOV", which is available in the material node editor. But I have to idea how to use it. Can not plug the AOV node into anything it seems.

I think you will have to render out the Irradiance AOV first and then use an Image Texture node to load that into your material to blend the desired materials as needed. The reason is that AOVs are created as the frame is rendered. Octane cannot use data that doesn't yet exist.

Irradiance can be simulated using dirt node.
