turn off Geforce GPU

Excuse me,

I've just bought a GTX480, to use only for render in Octane.
For monitor I have a quadro FX.

I saw
The minimun stand by of cooling system of GTX is Very loud :cry: :cry:
there is a option to turn off the video card by sistem's software,
obviously reversible
withour discard from the motherboard?

when I'm working in photoshop this card is very noise :-(

I don't think you can turn off a graphics card. Usually the GPU fan runs at lower speeds, when the card is not in use, but turning the whole thing off is not possible as far as I know.

Hi Carl,
Do you have cubix expander?

I'm asking myself.. If i have the cubix pci card connected on my workstation, can i maintain cubix tur off and
Boot the pc where i work? In that way i can have gpu turn off and pc turn on :?

Yes they have a power switch which you can shutdown the computer, turn off Xpander box, restart computer without those gpus being powered on. Another great benefit of having them in a separate box than the workstation. Along with better cooling and more expandability options.

I wonder why don't we make small box like carton box for silencer on back of the air outtake. No joke.

Probably because it wouldn't work in silencing the fan.
