Hi, is that possible? The way we setup those things now is non intuitive.

Yes its there ok. This doesn't mean that makes sense UI wise to be there. As I come from c4d, I use dome/sky lights for environment.
RS uses also the same concept in Houdini, has dome lights. Having lights in render settings is weird.
Now if it's not possible that's another story.
I spent 2 hours last night trying to add a single color in the environment without success. Could you please add that option there at least?

Here's an easy workaround:
In the Img context create a Comp node if none exists. Create a color node inside. Select the color node and copy it to the clipboard. Then in your Octane Render Target in the TEXT Environment tab paste the path into the Texture filename param field. Put op: in front of the path. It should look something like this op:/img/comp1/color1
Now you should be able to adjust the color of the environment. For best results keep the Power to between 0 and 1.
