I want the "procedural random color" to work on vellum grains (rendered as particles from OBJ octane settings)
I guess its impossible?

I haven't tried the Procedural_RandomColor node, but adding a Cd attribute (attribute adjust color, pattern type random for example) after the vellum solver should work. Make sure "Cd" is added on the "Attributes" tab for "Point Vector Attrs", the material is assigned on the obj level, and the attribute is linked in the octane vopnet (Color_Vertex_Attribute if using "Cd").

Edit -
Tested the "Procedural_RandomColor" node, seems to work with packed geo instancing. That'll require copying packed geo to the grains points and enabling "Packed Geo Instancing" on the OBJ level
