1920*1080 600samples 4m59s
2300*1500 256samples 3m50s

is this common?

the higher the resolution, the more one pixelsample is worth,
eg rendering at 4x resolution requires processing 4x more pixels, so the larger image will have the same noise (if downscaled to original size) with only 4x the amount of pixel samples.

but higher resolution could get much better detail in short time

`By the way, did you check the email our boss sent you a few months ago. He did not get any reply.
