Hi All,

I have a newly formatted machine with a new install of 3ds Max. No matter what combination of plugin and standalone I try to install I get met with 'dll error code 126, the specified module could not be found'. I have been installing and uninstalling for hours, and I give up. Does anyone have a real solution? I followed a thread suggesting that OctaneRender_for_3ds_Max_4.05_-_6.34 would fix the problem, but I still get the same error code.

I have even uninstalled every instance of octane by hand (regedit).

I'm open to any ideas.

Hi brianzero,
Which Octane Render plugin release are you using?
Which 3ds Max version are you using?

I started installing the newest, which gave me the error code, and each of the less old plugins, which gave me the same error code. I went through 4 plugins though the list, and ended up with OctaneRender_for_3ds_Max_4.05_-_6.34.

UPDATE

I got it working, but I'm using the Max plugin 2020.2 - 11.05. This is the only one I could get working. Very strange.
