Hi !
I have a problem with Octane, i render a simple animation with smoke, instances and a some debris,
when i hit ipr render it took 19 sec to render(30 sec max with the pre-loading) and my memory grow up to 28 Go, but if i hit render to disk....it's so long to render maybe 30 minutes and more and my memory saturated 65Go/65Go.....
Have you any ideas ? What's happened ? Thanks a lot !! :)

It is hard to say what could be the problem without more information. Can you please share the scene file? Have you tried the latest Octane 2021.1.5.0 plugin builds?

Thanks,

Thanks,
My scene load a multiples filecaches, it' so complex i think to share.
I think the problem are my Smoke, if i disable the smoke the render works again, it's take a while to loading my 2 smoke sim, i have at the end a filecache and pyrobakevolume and a material.
Per frame i takes 1.44Go + 350 Mo of cache on my disk.(35Go each simulation for 85 Frames)
How can i optimize my cache ? 2 Go of smoke are too big ?
Thanks. :)

You should cache your volume objects as OpenVDB files that Octane can load at the render time if you configure them from the "OpenVDB" tab in the Octane OBJ spare parameters. The extraction of the volumes data directly from Houdini can be slow and it could need a lot of RAM for large volumes.

Thanks,
