For some reason the settings "automatic material updates after content loads" and "load octanerender materials from .duf user presets" keep resetting themselves to being unchecked whenever I close DAZ and re-open it. This is probably a DAZ issue but I have no idea how to investigate nor how to fix.

DAZ Studio version: 4.20

The settings file might be corrupt, try deleting it (C:\Users\[username]\OctaneRender\Data\OctaneRender_settings.oczdb). Next time you open Daz a new settings file will be generated and hopefully the checkboxes will start saving properly.

Also, unless you have a very specific need to use the 2020 version of the plugin I would highly recommend upgrading to the latest 2021 one. There's been a lot of recent updates and fixes - recommend trying it out!

To me 2021 looks like it's still in beta, that's why I hadn't touched that yet but will download that now and try your workaround.
Is there a full "what's new" list from the latest 2020 version to the latest 2021 version? Or should I look each up?

This appears to have fixed it, thank you!

Hi. Yes, the latest releases are still labelled as "Test" releases, but they are expected to be pretty stable (at least as stable as the 2020 releases). I'll discuss internally what the criteria are for declaring a new "Stable" release and hopefully we can get to that point soon.

We don't have a combined changelog at the moment, so you'll need to look at the individual release threads for now.

Cheers,
Toby.
