why is World Creator 3 not available except for those who purchased on Black Friday, despite the main OTOY site promising:
all paid Octane subscription tiers starting at just 13.95 €/month (with Black Friday discount), including annual passes to: Greyscalegorilla Plus, LightStage MetaFace scans – a preselected free kit from KitBash3D every month – and full commercial licenses to World Creator, EmberGenFX, Architron, and Sculptron.
Embergen works, Sculptron works, Architron works, the Kitbash3D codes work, yet there's a "not licensed" error when opening the normal version of World Creator 2022? (GreyscaleGorilla plus doesn't work either, I dug through the fine print and found that it's only "annual" subscribers that get access, and even then only people who signed up last year, I emailed them and got no response)
World Creator for Octane basically broken, it doesn't export screenshots at all, and needs to be told what folders to export to every time the program is opened, the rotate functionality doesn't pivot around anything in particular, etc.
even then, the only thing I can get it to export is an orbx file with a greyscale exr displacement map attached to a plane and an extremely convoluted setup of an RGB image -> multiply texture -> diffuse material layer -> diffuse material, which contains no roughness/spec/normal/or any other texture file, so even water is just a blue diffuse surface, despite "IncludeMaterials" being set to ON.
neither image can be used outside of the orbx file, unless there's a way I'm unfamiliar with of extracting files from within an orbx container. so for all the awesome capability World Creator seems to have from the demos I've seen, it's rather useless in terms of actual functionality in the Octane version...
