Hello, I am using Octane Blender in M1 with Monterrey, and I am having issues that I see also other are posting in this forum.
- I can not select or move objects on the viewfinder and mouse, I can just select from the layer/tab and move with shortcuts.
- The menus on the windows are overlapped, sometimes is not possible to change fro example from viewport to timeline or so.
I would appreciate if someone can advice me, cheers!

from what you have written, it seems that plugin is not correctly installed.

so, I'm assuming it's fruitless trying to get anything to work on my build

GPU:
AMD Radeon RX 580 4 GB
Processor:

I'm pretty sure that it's not going to work at this point...
Is there anything simple I'm missing?
I'm guessing that my card isn't compatible at all.
I'm using: C4D_OctaneX_Prime_PR14.zip
with R25 C4D
Would that be correct?
Is there anything I should try? Or should I give up?

Sorry, unfortunately AMD Radeon Pro 580 is a Polaris GPU, but AMD Polaris and Intel GPUs are not supported anymore in new OctaneX PR12/13/14 for macOS 12 Monterey - there were some Apple Metal driver related issues.cosmic3d wrote:ok,

Is it possible for you to downgrade or install Mac Os 11.6.7 on another partition, or an external sdd/hdd?

In this way you could continue to work with PR11 under Big Sur, but with C4D S24, since C4D R25/26 are not supported in Big Sur.

This morning I get an error message from apple/OS X Monterey, 12.4, blocking Octane (and Forester Plugin too)
Updated OS to 12.5 but problem persist.
It was working Friday.
Usually when apple block a software I can go to security to allow the software, but this time I didn't find anything since it's not a dot app but a library.
Any clue on what to do ?
Attaching a screengrab, in French, it says something like:
"impossible to open "liboctane.dylib" because apple cannot verify blah blah, this software must be updated. Contact the developer to know more."

New OctaneRender® for Cinema4D version 2022.1-XB3 (Experimental) 05.08.2022:
- Added first 2022.1 support for native M1 Macs
- Scatter object: New WIP distribution mode POISSON and fix for distribution issues with old Surface mode.
- Several fixes

Remember to disable the Open using Rosetta option in the Info of the Cinema 4D.app: You also need to allow the c4doctane plugin and library in System Preferences/Security and Privacy panel, and restart C4D a couple of times.

Finally, you need to go to c4doctane Setting/Nodes, and disable the New style option, or material preview doesn't work in node editor: It is a Prime free version, so every Mac Octane users with Apple Silicon GPU can install it.
