Can anyone confirm the animation issues ?

I would like to try the velus/dforce hair but i can't risk being unable to render animations.

Hi @sudisk. It seems at least a couple of people have experienced issues with noisy/incomplete animation renders using build 67. However, I would encourage you to give it a go and report your results. The previous versions are all still available for download and as long as you're staying within the same version of OctaneRender, there should be no problem moving between versions of the plugin. Any of the 2021.1.5 versions of the plugin can read each other's saved scenes with no issues.

I understand completely if you'd rather wait for the issue to be resolved, but it would be helpful to get another data point if you're willing.

Cheers,
Toby.

Hi @Kanne, thank you for the report.

Are you seeing a dramatically noisy image like @Hun73rdk_1? I'm curious to know if the image is being saved before the render has finished sampling or if it is only the denoiser that hasn't been run.

Most importantly, which is the latest version of the plugin that produced correct animation images for you?

Thanks,
Toby.

Importing .orbx or .ocs doesn't work for me.

I can see it is processing the textures/materials but nothing is loaded when opening the viewport. Doesn't seems like the plugin is importing any geometry.

hi,
As I remember, only the standalone can do that, every other daz plugins only support materials and texture.

To be fair, I would love that they support import orbx and ocs as the standalone do. Especially C4D XD.

Oh, I thought it was a cross platform file system since it uses the same engine. But maybe it's only a 1-way system to Standalone. That would be sad.

Not as strong as in his/her attachment. I rendered with pt, 2500 smaples, enabled denoise, denoiser-blend set to 0. In still images it looks correct with denoiser applied.
I haven't rendered animations since I reported this bug/issue a while ago: viewtopic.php?f=145&t=79010
After reading this version should be more stable I wanted to give it another go.

Hi,

Do we have a timeline to resolve this issue. Have not tried the animation for a while. But if will need then will need to use Iray. Would also good to know what is your plan for this plugin in coming months.

Thank you for this info. Are you able to provide a Daz scene that has this problem? Please PM me if you can, it would be a big help.

Hi @delguy.

The noisy animation render issue is my top priority and once I track down the cause we will release a fixed version ASAP.

The plan is to fix major bugs and add support for missing Daz features (such as the hair support added recently) and missing OctaneRender features while we work on a re-architecture of the plugin to bring it more into line with some of our other plugins and to make it easier for us to add support for new OctaneRender features in the future.

I can't give any firm timelines for any of this at the moment, I'm sorry.

Cheers,
Toby.
