Total fail rendering scene

Need to know what's holding me back here. Simple scene. kitty stalking over the world transfers 'grow' attribute to the planet's geography. Ten plant alembic files are scattered over the landscape and plant alembics are copy-to-pointed, about 20,000 points, 10 k ABC files. 3Delight will render this in a minute half at 1080p, and so will Mantra. Octane totally fails. Any ideas why?

It is hard to say what could be the problem without more information. How does Octane fail? Can you please share the Octane log file that you get after rendering the scene? Also, If you can share the scene, I could take a look at it here.

I believe I've found the culprit in some slightly off geometry. Here's instancing over 5,000 points, flowers are about 2,500 polys. Thanks for your time.
