Renew Enterprise subscription question

If I renew my enterprise subscription a month early, does it actually begin 12 months from the date of the renewal, essentially losing me a month — or does it extend the year from the actual expiry date of the current subscription?

For instance, the actual current expiration date is May 31, 2022. I renew on April 31st, 2022. When will the new subscription expire — May 31, 2023 or April 31, 2023?
