2022.1 SDK is on the go, but I cannot share any ETA sorry, anyway I'm more than confident we will have a new version before WWDC

I've been doing further testing and noticed that the Mac denoiser is significantly worse than the one on PC with Nvidia cards. I understand that on Mac Octane uses AVX2 on the Intel chips to perform the denoising while on PC its using the Nvidia card itself, but is there work being done to have the Mac denoiser match the Nvidia one better?
Not only is it considerably slower (30 secs - 1 min on a 2500x2500 render) but the output is much worse, with a lot of artifacts while the Nvidia result is way smoother.

Hi paulothedesigner,
Unfortunately old AMD GPUs and Intel GPUs are not supported anymore in new OctaneX PR12/13/14 for macOS 12 Monterey - there were some Apple Metal driver related issues.

Is it possible for you to downgrade or install Mac Os 11.6.5 on another partition, or an external sdd/hdd?

In this way you could continue to work with PR11 under Big Sur and C4D S24, C4D R25 is not supported in Big Sur for now.

Just wanted to echo this as I'm facing the same bug. The offset seems to differ a bit sometimes, either depending on the angle or the distance to the object, I'm not sure. It's incredibly annoying as selecting the right object – especially small ones – is now a challenge every time.elraylo wrote:Having an issue selecting in viewport display. It will select under the object, about an inch below. Only in object mode. Edit mode seems fine. Is any one having this issue? Is there a way to resolve? I'm running OS Monterey.
MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021), M1 Max, MacOS 12.0.1. Confirmed this bug exists both in blend files opened that were authored in a different version of blender, as well as a fresh scene.
I am still using PR11 on R23 and OS X Big Sur with egpu 6900XT.
Is it better to keep working with this combo, of would it be better to upgrade to Monterey and PR12?
Better safe than sorry, so no problem to keep my current setup. When is the time to upgrade?
Thanks!

A weird bug that causes PR14 to crash consistently with motion blur turned on
I had my object tags set to ‘Transform/vertex’. Switching it to just ‘Transform’ solves the problem
Took me a whole day to figure this out, in case anyone else is suffering

I also can confirm that this bug that has been introduced in the Octane X Blender Plugin PR14. It is present on Intel and Apple Silicon machines, laptops and desktops. It makes working in Blender absolutely impossibleSenshi wrote:Just wanted to echo this as I'm facing the same bug. One of the big fixes of PR14 was the return of de-noising for Intel Macs on macOS 12.3. This is true for the PR14 stand alone version, but in the Blender Plugin de-noising still doesn't work.
Finally, the first version of OctaneX based on latest CUDA SDK has been released today, only available for Apple Silicon M1 native, plugins will follow asap:
