When I enable "Save deep image" in the render settings, and I add an output path, nothing happens? No file is written?
What am I doing wrong, what is the right way to set this up? I could not find anything about it in the manual.
Thanks,
marc

Hi marc,
yes confirmed, but I have tried with Standalone 2021.1.4, and I had the same issue
Can you check if you have the same behavior in Standalone?

Beppe

Hi Beppe,
tested it in SA 2021.1.4 and it doesn't work here either.

Hi Marc,
I have just learned that, if Max Sampling is too low, the Deep Image cannot be saved.
Please try with the following example, 64 sampling are enough: ciao,

Hi Beppe,
thank you, I will try this.
But my test in C4D had the render settings set to path tracing and 1600 samples?

Oh my ... there is an additional Deep image check box in the render settings :/
That's a bit redundant, isn't it?
Anyways - solved. Thanks, Beppe.

Ah ok, but it doesn't seem redundant to me, but necessary.
You don't want that Octane handles deep data if you don't need them.

Of course, but if I want them, I want them saved of course. Imho there is no scenario, where I would want them handled but not saved?bepeg4d wrote:Ah ok, but it doesn't seem redundant to me, but necessary.

Edit: But to be clear, this is one of the least urgent problems, not even a real problem
