Hi,
OctaneX is still based on 2020.1.5 SDK, with some addictions, while PC version is at 2021.1 SDK.
We need to wait for the next upcoming 2022.1 SDK, to have an OctaneX version based on the same SDK as CUDA, to be able to experiment Net render in a mixed environment, with both CUDA and Metal Render-Nodes.
So for now, you can Network render with other OctaneX Render-Nodes only.
ciao,
Beppe

OTOY team please give an answer, it's worth waiting for a quick render on a new chip from apple on m1. Or is this story similar to something unknown and can drag on for years of experiments without getting a result? I can't wait indefinitely. Maybe I should switch to windows immediately or it makes sense to wait about 1 more month and get super speed on my MacBook M1MAX. So much time has already passed and there is no progress, it seems that rendering on m1 is something impossible but perhaps promising in the future. Now the render time on m1 is ridiculous.
I really hope you will answer and give your point of view, after so many hours of development experience.

Are you on Monterey? Apple’s release notes for it said non AMD reference card 6900XT’s have a driver issue. I think that’s the problem but no clarity on why this issue is there. Still works on big sur though
