Having fought with R25s new layout and content (thing), I find I have less control over things than I used to. I hate the way it renames files and you can quickly create quite the mess of library assets and materials, it worked ok for small amounts but not large. I noticed that my LocalLB called from C4D is not good if you have plenty of your own presets, takes an age to display etc. The Standalone opens these big libraries nice and quick. My question is twofold, what do C4D users use to collate their materials and is the Standalone worth investing time in to work with in conjuction with C4D.
Thanks
C4D user learn STANDALONE too?

Hi,
Standalone is the heart of OctaneRender, so learning it is definitely a good idea!
It needs far less resources than any other 3D app + plugin, you can mix several .orbx scenes together, and it is easy to be scripted with Lua:
