Hello,
I'm revising this post. Are OSL textures supported in the new Octane? I inherited a a set of scenes that we've been using for quite some time. the OSL texture isn't working now. Is there a workaround?

Thanks,
Jarrod

Hi Jarrod,
OSL Gradient in Opacity seems to work as expected here in 2021.1-R6:

Please share a simple example scene.

ciao,
Beppe.

With the upgrade, we are getting black in place of transparency and I'm not familiar with the code that drives transparency.

I appreciate any help so we won't have to alter our scene.

I added images showing nodes and disconnected the radial gradient piped into the osl node with a slight change but still getting black where it should be transparent.

Thanks,
Jarrod

You should find a node named Raytype switch that you can use to reproduce the same effect as this OSL script. Depending on how it was configured before, set the same ray type that was selected to 1 and all the others to 0.

Thank you @jobigoud. I found the conflict causing the issue. The Octane tag conflicted with the osl material. I deleted it and had to make other edits that the tag took care of.
