How did you get it working with Rosetta?
If I enable rosetta on the get info menu .. it crashes immediately :/
Using the latest R25, and if I disable rosetta, everything works fine!

Marcelo

Nope, the AI Denoiser is always performed by Workstation/Master, not from Render-Nodes.pegot wrote:Would this also mean that when (if) Otoy finally gets out multi-platofrm rendering then any such projects started from PC and utilizing M1 Macs on network also could not denoise?
For anyone doing mostly animation no denoiser pretty much means not using a Mac at all for final output

Hi,
PR13 is working here, under macOS 12.0.1, and C4D R25, if Open with Rosetta is enabled.
If it crashes on startup, it means that it is not correctly installed.
You need to create the plugins folder inside the c4d R2X directory in lower case, then copy the uncompressed c4doctaneX folder in it.
The installation paths for Mac is:
- HD\Applications\Maxon Cinema 4D R2X\plugins\c4doctaneX (You have to create the plugins folder in lower case!)
Note that you always need to remove from the c4doctane folder, all the unnecessary c4doctane-R2X.xdlib files not related with R2X specific version, and leave only one c4doctane-R2X.xdlib file in ../plugins/c4doctane directory.
Please avoid to add the c4doctaneX plugin in c4d menu Edit/Preferences/Plugins, or it will give you conflicts: ciao,
Beppe

Thanks Beppe
I double checked everything. I am also on 12.0.1 with C4D installed normally from the Maxon app.
If I activate rosetta it crashes on startup - even with the plugin name correct, folder name correct, or even without the folder name. Seems to be an C4D issue, not an octane issue.
So the only question I have so I can investigate: is your C4d installed from the maxon app?

Confirmed: If you install Cinema4D from the Maxon app - it will not run on Monterey with Rosetta as needed for Octane. It crashes with rosetta activated. IF you are experiencing those crashes:
Get the offline installer for Cinema 4D r25 and then install Octane - this works.

same for me, I activated the offer but the PR13 link is not available, could someone give some information about this? or make the link available to those who have activated the free year licenseWeezer wrote:When will we get the Mac Pro year's free license version (Studio)? I'm losing days of OctaneX, because I'm on macOS Monterey and C4D R25.
thanks in advance
I’ve posted a number of questions recently and had zero response to any of them. I’ve also contacted OTOY support twice and had no answer. Meanwhile my free license continues to fritter away and I still can’t use OctaneX. Very disappointing.
Still, when Blender’s Cycles runs on Apple Metal next year, maybe I can just drop Octane altogether. May as well at the moment. I’m certainly not paying for this mediocre level of support.
