I think it's better than nothing, but don't expect a refresh of LW/SDK quickly, it's going to take several weeks/monthes to see something updated or new...
Please, don't spread fake news in this forum. This is not true at all.

Thanks,

Okay Juanjo, so give us real news because I have had a conversation with Jules where he says Lightwave plugin will be free and he just wants to work out the details with you.

Any news about the free Lightwave plugin? It's black friday so people (like me) would like to get a heads up before renewing the license for the Lighwave plugin.

Thanks!

I am open to exploring a prime (free on one GPU version) of the LW plug-in but I want to be sure it is going to be useful and viable to support in some way before we go to that effort.

I have just received the add e-mail from Otoy about Octane 2022. The long awaited Photon tracer for fast and real caustics is finally here.
Now I wonder how to use it in LW…

Hi Juanjo, Jules, after 9 years of waiting, and impatience, I think we deserve this update, Lightwave is not dead, besides it is still on sale, and the current version will keep running for a long time, don't underestimate any software which has proven itself on Amiga ! And the work Otoy has done on this plug-in is truly phenomenal ! I don't think it requires a lot of development, compared to the work already done, knowing that many Lightwavers will continue to use this latest stable release, as Lightwave is unlikely to evolve any time soon. Having a free version, but limited would be a definite plus, but many professionals still work with this solution, and they will surely go through the subscription to continue working on several GPUs. You have the cards in hand, but considering all the work done, and the 9 years of waiting wisely, this last update, we agree, which is magnificent, it must be said, it brings everything a 3D professional could wish for, BRAVO, could be a very great contribution to the community ! Thank you again for what you did for Lightwave. Nice continuation to you. Regards. ;)
