volumetric spotlight
Moderator: face_off
can anyone explain how the volumetric spotlight setting works? spotlights do not work in octane, correct? I can create volumetric fog with other light types using the methods shown on pixel fondue but this setting looks very attractive but I cannot get it to do anything...
I replied to the same question on modo's slack.
This is a bit of a quirk with modo's light settings. "Visible to camera" is off by default. Turn that on and it will make the volume/barn meshes visible.
The second quirk is we have octane's "surface brightness" enabled by default, which doesnt work well for spotlights. You need to use high radiant intensity values like 1000.
If you disable "surface brightness", you'll see the light with lower values closer to 1.
