Fellow LWers, if you are like us - if you made money using Juan's rock-solid Octane plugin - for many many years - let's not let him go before giving us - long-awaited 2022 octane (brigade) version.

We all could quit years ago - but this guy with his amazing dedication to LW allowed us to stay in our beloved Lightwave.

I will do whatever I can do and if you made money with this plugin so far, you can also contribute.

Juan if you tell us openly what is your financial expectation for this new plugin - I am sure we will come up with that sum.

Please do not leave the LW development before giving us Brigade.

Sorry, guys. This is not a matter of money. As you have probably read in my post, I do not intend to continue working on the LightWave plugin due to the lack of personal time to work on it and also due to the fact that LightWave is no longer in development, so there is no support for fixing or improving the SDK issues or the LW core itself.

Let's see how the Octane 2022 SDK is. If it is easy to compile the current plugin code against it, perhaps I could take a look at it in my spare time, but well, like happens with Octane 2021, adding new features on the plugin side is unlikely, and compile it against the new Octane 2022 SDK could be even impossible if some deprecated Octane features (like the old render passes node) are removed.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

Thank you Juanjo, let's hope SDK of Lightwave will not be an insurmountable obstacle to adding new Render Kernels. Hope dies last )

I think that this question is not in the competence of Juanjo, but rather Julius.

Promity, I've already had a message from Jules saying he wants to give us a free tier but he needs to speak with Juanjo.

Lightwave is going to be free, like Blender.
VizRT drop it for 1,5 M us/dols.

I think it's better than nothing, but don't expect a refresh of LW/SDK quickly, it's going to take several weeks/monthes to see something updated or new...
