I've just started using OctaneRender in Unreal Engine (currently in 4.26)
I am noticing is a distinct slowdown when activating the Octane plugin. The scene is fairly light, it has a few building meshes and roads, plus a few lights. Without Octant activated the scene runs at it's 120fps limit. I'm using a 3080 GPU.
...but once octane is loaded I'm down to 8fps and if I add a few more meshes it completely freezes the viewport.
Would anybody be able to point me toward some optimisations/ things I can try that will bring back performance? I'm hoping to build some large worlds for panoramic shots but can't see myself getting close if this is normal behaviour.
4.26 Huge performance/fps drop

Would it be possible for you to send me the scene you are using?
And are you using the latest version of the plugin?

Hi Chris, It seems that a fresh install of the plugin solved the issue.
All working fine now.
