Any indication as to when the Cinema 4D plugin for PR12 will be launched?

Nice! :D Just ran the same bench on a 3080ti with Thunderbolt 3. Came out on 8 seconds. Looks very promising for the m1x, I think? Isn`t there an Octane X benchmark scene?

It seems quite responsive, just a little bit slower than the W5700X. I'm very curious to see how it handles my bigger scenes. I ran the chess set scene to keep the results comparable to a graph we've been using to measure Octane X performance. If I remember correctly the complete version of Octane Bench has not yet been released for non CUDA Macs. Though, if I'm wrong about that, and someone has a link for me to use to download the full OB, I'm happy to run that once I return to the office tomorrow.

I'm surprised this isn't faster. With the M1 coming in at 52 seconds (based on previous benchmarks posted in this thread) and Apple claiming the M1 Max is 4 times faster than the M1 - it should be around 13 seconds (52/4) - but this is only roughly twice as fast as the M1. I wonder is there still optimisations to be done or is Apple widely exaggerating it's benchmarks ?

Thanks.

Since the RX 6800/6900 is impossible to get hold of, I was thinking of going with a 6700. Can't see a score for it, but assuming it lands somewhere here?:

hi, everyone

i need a new machine and am on the fence at the moment

would you say otoy/octane is more or less ready to tackle the power of a maxed-out m1 max given what users have been sharing here so far?
should we expect significant improvements from their side in the near future?

of course i value portability, but i might invest in a desktop with a 3080 ti instead if things are not looking good

What about blender ? Really strange ?
I'm paying for some days octane solution,
and the add-on blender is not compatible anymore.
It worked for one free month and now I'm stuck with my M1...
I have studio PR12, seem to work fine.

And another thing I can't have Octane X through the App Store.
it's downloading normally and at the end it stops...uninstalling.

Patrice.

@Gray_Parrot:
thanks for sharing the result!
Could you redo the test with power connected, to see if there is a difference?

@atoyuser1:
Unfortunately macOS supports only Navi 21 (6800/6900), while 6700 is a Navi 22 GPU, so it is not supported.

Still on track for a release this week Beppe?

Hello Beppe,
The laptop was plugged-in, in fact. Additionally, no other applications were running. Is this a lower score than you anticipated? If you have any other tests or suggestions for better performance, I would be eager to try them.
