Hey there how do i hide a light emitter (whether it's a Area Light or a Blackbody Material on a Plane) from a render or the viewport? ie see images...

Image

Object Properties > Octane Settings > Object Layer > Camera Visibility doesn't do anything for me in the viewport.

And if I use Object Properties > Visibility > Viewports then it just turns the light completely off.

Thanks in advance

Object > Object layer map > General visibility = 0
Although it will still show on specular materials. So it will be very noticeable in chrome, mirrors, windows etc.

You can also use "Light pass mask" in the Object layer map. Then you can hide the fill light showing on objects with specular materials. It can be a lot of work if you need to edit an object to cut it up in different objects.
Hopefully in the future we can get an option to turn that off in the materials and not only by objects.
