Anyone watch the Apple announcement? New MacBook Pros, and they claim that Redshift performance is 4x faster on the new M1 Max chip than the 5600M. If that's true and it translates to Octane performance, then that would make the new chip faster than a 6900XT. Up to 64GB of unified RAM too!
Looking forward to real world tests when they start shipping.

Jules said it's about the same as a Radeon Pro Vega II so that's about a 1080ti I think. A little over 200 OB

On Apples site they're saying, its 4x faster in rendering (Redshift) than the Radeon Pro 5600M. The Radeon Pro 5600M has 31 points on the benchmark list here in Octane. So thats 7,75 points, that the M1 Max should reach... and that would be the fastest result on that list, if my calculation is correct. What is the equivalent of 7,75 points in the Nvidia world ?james_conkle wrote:Jules said it's about the same as a Radeon Pro Vega II so that's about a 1080ti I think. A little over 200 OB

I would be great if anyone from OTOY could share some Octane Benchmarks of the new M1 Pro and M1 Max. On the product page at Apple.com Octane X is featured as a render solution so there seem to be some kind of collaboration.
Can hardly resist to buy a maxed out 16" as my new mobile workstation but first I need some performance numbers
