There's a bug that persists in vdbs throughout all of the 2021 c4d releases, when looking at a vdb through the voxel box of another vdb. The volume in the back looks different when viewed through the box of another vdb. In the screenshots you can see what I mean. This makes octane 2021 unusable for me at this point. The vdbs are not intersecting.

The "dirt visibility" option in the object tag also seems to have been removed in 2021 and the latest 2020.1.5 versions. Is this option permanently gone? I found it very useful.

Thank you!
First is not plugin related and needs a scene to check what you say. Second is a mistake on my side, not sure why I've disabled it. But I'll bring back for next.

Thank you for the quick reply. Okay, good to know. I've attached the scene file with a slightly lower resolution vdb for upload reasons. I of course have no idea how any of this works under the hood, just wanted to bring it to your attention. Thank you.

No idear what I'm doing wrong!

I want to render to PV with AOVs with a background image.

As long as I save it as a normal jpg or png everything works fine!

But when I try to render Multipass with AOVs (no matter PSD or EXR, no matter which Passes I add)
there is always the background missing when I open it in PSD.

It starts rendering in PV with the BG, but when it comes to saving the BG becomes black.

What I'm missing here?
Is it a known limitation of 2021?

thanks

Hi really loving the new ACES side of the octane!
I just had 2 small issues with D65 and saving directly out from PV as png.
1)
when it's directly saved as PNG.
the white balance doesn't match with D65, but it matches with legacy/flat
( seem like it's missing a D65 transform when save from PV to PNG)

When save as directly out as EXR, every colour looks right as I set it as ACEScg.

2)
I have denoiser turned on.
but non of my multipass exr pass has Denoise applied, at least the beauty pass isn't. Would be great to find a solution for this first.

Cheers

Not sure what you mean to first, if you're saving as PNG/EXR in LV then plugin will use Octane's saving functions. I cannot see any problem on saving. Maybe worth to illustrate it a bit better.
About second, you cannot get denoised results in to beauty if you're using Octane-EXR. Because it's directly saved from Octane render buffers. With other formats we can do that because there's a transfer buffer(copy denoised to beauty) to revise.

Mike, can you post a simple scene file? Let's take a look at your setup.

Hi jayroth,

sure!

Simple test with a sphere and a c4d background.
Everything fine in LV.
In PV I would expect to get a Beauty-Pass with BG-Image included like in LV.

Maybe a trifle, but I really have no idear which.

thanks

Rifat, you have to use it in Picture Viewer with render passes.
