The plugin installer prompts for the Poser location, which could point to an older version of Poser. Poser 12 by default installs to Poser Software/Poser 12 in Program Files.
It will install itself as an addon in the Runtime:Python:Addon folder in a folder called OctaneRender.

From the message it looks like the OctaneRender folder is found, but not the code inside it.
This could be an issue with permission since it is located in a protected area of Windows which I think needs admin permission to write to.
I am not sure this is the problem, but it is worth checking out that plugin folder.
Configuration: Windows 11 Pro, I9 12900K, 128GB, RTX 3090, P12 b1029

I think the addonloader writes that line, nexxt line in the log would be which python version it runs.
can you show the contents of the OctaneRender folder in the addons folder. Maybe I can see what is missing by comparing it to moine.

I think I see what the problem is - but not how it happened.
The problem is that the folder name is wrong - Not sure when it change, but I think it was from P11 to p12 support.
Your Octane plugin folder name is "OctaneRender for Poser". My foldername is "Octane Render". This would also explain your error when you start it - it does not find the code since it is located elsewhere.

If this indeed is the problem, solution is easy: Rename "OctaneRender for Poser" to "OctaneRender" (remove the " for Poser").

On my install it does not happen, but I use the enterprise version, not the studio version. Paul (FaceOff) should know and can fix it.

Hope this works.
