My download speed is about 90MB sec.
I am finding the LDB extremely slow of late.
Slow generally, but Misc. is of course, even more slow. Thumbnails mostly do not appear unless clicked.
A search function would be helpful if this slowness continues.

Yes, a search option would be useful for sure but not trivial to implement right now.
And yes, as the material has been loaded, LiveDB should be closed.
