What is the real world performance penalty using Octane with an egpu set up, compared to using an internal gpu?

Hi,
the difference is only in the loading time of the scene.
If I remember well, Thunderbolt 3 is equal to PCI-E x4, so you can see a slightly difference in loading time, compared with PCI-E 8x or 16x.
But when the scene is loaded in GPU, ther rendering speed is exactly the same as with PCI-E bus.
The Octanebench results are almost identical.

Thanks Beppe, definitely sounds like an egpu set-up can be quite a good option.
