Hi guys,
OctaneX is still based on 2020.1.5 SDK with some additions, while Color Management has been added in 2020.2 SDK CUDA.
The core devs are still working on new 2021.1 SDK, now in Alpha stage, to add new important features to have both Metal and CUDA versions on the same page, so OctaneX is going to skip 2020.2 SDK, and jump directly to 2021.1 SDK, when ready.

When you see iPad stuff, it means ARM/M1 support, and this is also crucial, since M1X chip with better GPU is behind the corner for upcoming MacBook Pro, Mac Mini and big iMac, so it is not an issue with marketing teams wish list.

Happy Mac GPU rendering,
ciao Beppe

Octane X is skipping 2020.2 (which was mostly done as an interim update for CUDA/Ampere Denoiser work) and going to 2021.1 with the next major update. We will continue to keep feature parity and tandem releases from Octane 2021.1+ for both Metal/CUDA.

Yes, no problem to report so far, with macOS 11.5 and PR11.

When can we expect a 2021.x release do you think or.. a beta for "Monterey"? Would totaly be ok if the release was based on PR11 for example.. just let us run "current builds" on Monterey.. if possible... I know its a different version needed..

Hi, Octane X worked fine and I enjoyed using it until today. For some reason I'm not anymore able to save anything. Is anyone else having similar problem?
Sorry if it's not the right place to ask, I'm completely lost.

Difficult to say
Please try to reboot, or copy paste all the element in the scene in a new c4d file.
If not enough, please write to help at otoy com sharing some screenshots.

Hi im working on 2 different macs and fairly new OS (11.2.2 atm) on C4D s24 and i think im about done with Octane X since ive noticed that my workflow is basically revolving around preparing for the next crash. These come about every 5-10 minutes from varous tasks. I understand that we are (currently) skipping a version so i just wanted to ask if there is any info on when the next version is going to come (assuming apples new hardware will be available in october)? I might come back then.
