Hi guys,
I'm running in a pretty annoying problem. I have a huge scene and it seems that DoF can't handle it. No matter what Aperture numbers I use, the scene stays crystal sharp when using the focus picker, auto focus or a focus target xpresso setup. Lowering the focal depth by hand results in a blurry image but that way its impossible to control the focus point.
I really hope there is a workaround for this because I don't wanna do it in post... :/
Please see the attached dummy scene I prepared. I guess you need to set the view clipping to huge and add an additional 0.
Thanks and all the best!
DoF not working properly in large scene scales

Hi KeeWe, it is strongly recommended to always work with a plausible, correct scene-scale according to the 3D DCC/renderer. Scale is arbitrary, but there is always a default unit set, usually meter or centimeter.
This way, you will be able to use the Octane Camera that is based on mathematic formulas meant to work with plausible scene-scale.
It is worth to mention that rendering with a wrong scene-scale is "unhealthy" for the renderer (all of them). Lighting and shading will be affected and values will have to be wrongly adjusted to non-plausible ranges.
