I've got a scene with 3.4 million polygons and I can't send to live viewer without C4D crashing or a lockup at "export materials"

I'm running on two 2080 TI's and I have 128 GB of ram, all materials are 1028 octane shaders

Latest version of octane on cinema4d R20

any ideas?

Difficult to say without at least a log.

Please, open the scene, then go to c4doctane Settings/Other tab, and, at the bottom of the panel, enable all the Log option checkboxes.
Then, load the scene in Live View, then in Picture Viewer, or until crash, then reopen c4d, navigate to c4doctane Settings/Other tab, press the Generate log report button, and share the octanelog_report.zip file, thanks.

Crash on materials with some reason. Haven't you try to render before reaching to max amount of materials? It's something you should find what causes this. Only way is to delete some of materials until crash stops. Then try different combinations to be sure it's about texture amounts or a specific texture. Or export will display in log outputs where it stucks
