Is there any chance to support RTX3080/3090 with octane plugin for C4D version 4.05-R7?
I am aware that the updates for 4.05-R7 has been stopped but at least there should be a support for new nvidia cards so that we can run the old plugin which we have already spent so much money over the years.
Thanks!

Nope, sorry.
V4 is based on an old version of CUDA, while Ampere GPUs need CUDA 11.2, or greater.
After v4, we had 2018.1, then 2019.1, then 2020.1, and also these versions do not have Ampere support.
You need a version of Octane based on 2020.2 or 2021.1 SDK, to have the full Ampere support.

Would be rad if they let existing owners get a one-time cost to upgrade to a version that is compatible, but no long-term updates and you get to own it. If you want updates and support go with the subscription model.

if You have V4, You can pay to get to 2020. One time payment and You are left with 2020 once the maintenance period is over. With 1year maintenance it's 499 with two year it's 699. So that's an option to update from V4 to 2020.

however, me personally, I still think that maintenance option for 199 is a better idea, as even after two year You paid 349 and left with 150 in the pocket.. - third year You can use 2022 or 2023 instead of 2020 (that will be dated). Just like now, You will upgrade hardware or such and it might not work, because Your software is too old. if You choose to have maintenance rather than perpetual update it's simply put the better deal.
