Hi, I'm running a denoiser as a separate pass, using the folders option:
Render Settings>Octane Renderer>Render Passes
Render Settings>Octane Renderer>Render Passes
I'm also saving out the original using the save tab
Render Settings>Save
Render Settings>Save
I have also disabled the Camera Imager:
Camera Imager Settings
Camera Imager Settings
Camera Imager.png (28.46 KiB) Viewed 1391 times
This produces the following:
result
result
I expected test.png and test_Main.png to be identical, but it seems to be be bigger because it has alpha turned on

2 Questions:

• Where is the denoiser getting its setting from, if the Camera Imager is disabled?
• How can I disable alpha in test_Main.png?

Thanks and apologies for the long-winded question

Hi,
the Camera Imager node is always active in the Octane Settings panel.
If you enable the Camera Imager in the Camera tag, it will bypass the general settings.

To remove the Camera Imager effect while saving, you need to choose Linear, instead of Tonemapped, but this is not good in 8bit saving format, you should need to use PNG 16bit for Linear.

Do you have the Alpha channel active in the Kernel panel?
Do you need other passes, or only the Denoised beauty?

ciao Beppe

Thanks Beppe, I have denoiser disabled in settings (see below), so it will still use those values?:
Octane X Settings>Camara Imager>Denoiser
Octane X Settings>Camara Imager>Denoiser

Alpha is disabled in Kernel:

Just Denoised beauty for now. I want a denoised version and clean version. I would disable the Main in passes render if I could, then just stick with the save output instead
