Actually I've always wondered if something like this was possible. Would be super useful to see exactly where the white points are and what's clipping in a 32bit linear colorspace.

Was this ever implemented? You can do it in redshift and it's so useful! Would love too see this functionality in octane too

I'm gonna put in a vote for this too. Have been wanting and searching if this was implemented, for a while. :)

Whenever i want to see how my values are distributed on a histogram, i have to render in viewport, export, import into photoshop after setting the correct color space, and then finally i can see it. Lots of small reasons why it is handy to be able to quickly check the histogram in the viewport itself.

Not sure on the progress of this thread but I want to keep it going, another +1 for Waveform of Histogram tools, it makes perfect sense.
