Last Sunday my Grandpa died, and so I am remodelling a special part of their house as a tribute to him.
This is both my first serious project in Octane and my first archiviz project, so be nice :)

Here's what I've got so far:

Direct lighting for now, 5 minute render time.

That's sad to hear, but the rendering looks like a really good start. Maybe you can give the commode some scratches, bump or make it less glossy at the edges, to make it look older and used.

The real table I'm modelling off is shiny and somewhat perfect (it's been kept in very good condition), so there is no need for that stuff.
