I have a mix material I want to duplicate and then alter. I duplicate the mix material, and both of the materials used to make the mix.
I then open the duplicate mix material in the node editor, which obviously still has the two original materials in it. If I try to delete one of the original sub materials or drag one of the new sub materials in, Octane and c4d crash. Every time, has happened 10 times in a row and I'm getting f****n angry.
Am I doing something wrong? What is the best way to make a different version of a mix material?

1- composite material is replacement because of mix material management difficulties for you and me. C4D is never supporting this kind of material implementation.
2 - record a video, bugreport.zip and scene to send me
3- prefer composite materials

Hi,
select the Mix Material, then go to Live View menu Materials/Convert material, to automatically convert it into a Composite material.
ciao Beppe
