Just been Looking at the Depth of field slider in the camera settings from a Photographers Point of view.The notation does not seem to have any relation to real life.
Generally I think the Slider should range in value from around F1.2 (a shallow depth of field up to F22.Maximum depth of Field).This is the range that all Camera Lens have in Real life.

Not sure what everyone and the Octane Team thinks.
