I'm not sure if you are going to be able to replicate in Standalone the instance ID tricks used by the plugin to support Cd like attributes. The color is encoded using an internal function available on the plugin side and added to the instancer alongside all the other information. Something like that is not possible in Standalone, as far as I know.

OctaneRender 2020.2 for Houdini Production build 2020.2.0.4

Hi, is anyone else noticing this version to be less stable. I get quite a few random crashes in different scenes since upgrading. Often it hangs while loading the scenes.
I'm on Windows 10, Houdini 18.5.462 and NVIDIA Studio Driver 461.40 and use 3x2070SUPER and one regular 2070.
Cheers

It could be great to have the Octane log file from any of these problems. You can enable the log in the plugin options panel. Of course, if you can reproduce this problem with any particular scene, it could be great to have it here to try to reproduce these issues.chocbot wrote:Hi, is anyone else noticing this version to be less stable. Nope, sorry. It seems that this delay comes from the Octane core checking all the Octane system libs at the initiation time, something that is now slower due to the growing size of all these libs. Perhaps having Octane installed in a local high-speed disk could help.
