@ Romano: thanks for sharing the workaround!
We need to have this fixed in the general SDK, and the core devs should have already found and fixed the issue for 2020.2.2 SDK.

Happy GPU rendering,
ciao Beppe

Hopefully MacOS issues will be fixed as well ;-)

Cheers

Hello. I am still getting insane noise in my Render Layer Black Shadows + Render Layer Reflections.
I have tried the suggestions to turn off adaptive sampling but no difference. Denoiser is on ofcourse.

I am running Octane 2020.2.1-R3 on Windows with 2x 2080 TI. Rendering in 32 bit EXR(Octane) with DWAB Compression in Linear sRGB.
Please help me to fix this, because I need to render the shadows and reflections as a seperate pass.

Hi Ahmet,

I try to connect an emission power node in Expresso but can't find it in the list of available nodes.
How can I control power of a texture emission via Expresso?
Is this possible is this missing?

Thanks for your help!

Ron

Ron, best way to do it is to right click on the attribute you want in xpresso and choose Set Driver. This will create an xpresso tag, which you can then copy and paste into your xpresso (or, just build from there -- either way works.)

If I move more than one frame forward in a scene with a cached XP Setup, with an active live viewer, I get crashes every time. I'm on the latest everything

I went back to R2, had forgotten to delete the Attributed node. It rendered, but still crashed after going forward a single frame twice. Deleted the Attribute node and it works fine again. Edit: Still getting crashes when moving the timeline...

Aoktar can you please check my issue with "Render Layer Black Shadows / Reflections" in the post above? I can't find a fix anywhere!

Sorry but it's not plugin issue and it's not something I can do. You may wish to increase the max samples

Hi paypal-ict,
please note that AI Denoise works only with few Beauty passes, so Render Layers, or Lighting Layers, for example, are not affected by AI Denoser.
You should need to render the black shadow pass with AI Denoiser turned off, greater Max Sampling, and Adaptive Sampling enabled.

The core devs are working to have an AI Denoiser pass on top of AOVs for future.

ciao Beppe
