I tried out the demo v of Octane. Works. I even got a nice little render of a key in Specular. I have two questions.
1. How do I get the demo to show where the model is on screen? I see number rule for the on screen part, but where is the object locator and where is the entire scene coordinates ? ( I have lost my place of where object is many times)
2. Lighting . How do I change angle of lighting? Is this feature only available with paid for plugin? How many lights am I allowed?
I am looking forward to buying this software in the coming months , assuming I can get these questions answered. Other than these questions, so far, the software works. Looking forward to seeing some textures on there too.
Oh a third question,
3. with lighting and all will this renderer show reflects and refractions? Can I use a panaramic scene?
Newbie.

well, as a general rule I would advise to place your object before exporting in the 0,0 coordinates, it'll make your camera work so much easier in octane. In the panel above there is a button for object zoom, it's quite useful.
About the light, in the demo you can only use two type of lights, enviroment light (with an HDRI for example) and daylight in which you can control all the parameters, like world location, north placement, date... is located in the right side panel under preview enviroment.
The current build (only for customers) also has emmiters materials so you can flood your scenes with as much light as you please, when in doubt check the gallery and wip forums.
About reflections, not sure what you mean, assign a glossy (metals and such) or specular material (glass) and there you go, reflections everywhere.
Cheers, and have fun with Octane
