Constant longer Scene Preparation because of Hair and Cloth
Moderators: ChrisHekman, aoktar
It's not a hair or Octane problem. Preparation is long in C4D renderer also. It's about your "Ebene" object. Try to investigate your setup.

i have the same issue at the moment.
A few hair objects and alembics in the scene - fully cached. It takes 8min to prepare at frame 1000+, which increases our rendering costs dramatically.
With octane disabled it renders instantly.
Statusbar says: Octane:>> ProcessUpdate(flags=M cAsyn=0 dDelay=0.
help please!
