I'm trying to get back in to 3d stuff.

but I have no idea how to use OctaneX, I just saw the news the native full Big Sur + m1 release is here and it's free of charge (at least the first year, from what I can gather) for apple users on m1 and pro Macs, which I am.

But how do I use the app? are there any tutorials out there, sample files to get me started?

my existing 3d files won't let it mee opened by the app. it's asking for an octane scene?

I also got Cinema 4D installed, which came with Adobe CC2021. but how can I use them both?

Hi,
at the moment M1 chip support is experimental, it works under Rosetta 2 for now, and only Standalone is supported for now.

Do you have another Mac with recent AMD GPU on board?

no it's not about that, I need general information about using this product, I'm not at all familiar with Octane, also your info is out dated, their latest release version runs natively on M1 chips and is a free-of charge product for everyone.
But I need resources to start using it, how will I generate it (from other apps such as photoshop, Cin. 4d etc. , what kind of files does it open? etc.

Hi,
great to hear that it is working natively now.

You need to esport your scene from your 3D app to Standalone in .obj, .fbx, or .abc file format, and edit the scene directly in Standalone.
Here are some video tutorials about Standalone usage:

Happy Mac GPU rendering,
