Hello,

Im using an octane daylight object and the model is set to "Octane daylight model". I have it simply rotating 360 degrees on the pitch. When the sun comes around to dawn, there is a POP in the light. It doesnt happen if i change the model, but i like the octane model. You can see tat on frame 2 the light POPS bright instead of a gradual fading brighter and brighter. The other daylight models seem to work fine. Is there a way that i can solve this so i can use octanes daylight model? I like the coloration and quality of light.

Just a little more information on what im trying to accomplish.

I want to create a looping animation of the sun rising and setting. So if you play the video it loops over and over day after day. Im trying to achieve this by animating the PITCH of the daylite object. I dont want to render it without environment and use a backplate. Im hoping there is a way to do this but i cant seem to achieve what almost works perfectly except for what i mentioned above in my original post.

Thanks again.

Hi,
I have tried to animate the sun from P30° to P-1°, but the sun comes up smoothly here with Octane Daylight model
Do you mind to share a video of the effect you are having?

Its ok Bepeg, i made a work around.

I animated the sun intensity to smooth out the pop. If you get a chance it would still be good to know why its happening. But the work around seems fine.

Hi,
no sorry, the file was not attached correctly.
Make a scene with only daylight, to keep it super small, and try to zip it before loading it.

ciao Beppe
