Noticeably better than 11.2? (Faster, more stable) Or basically just the same?

The Prime Server for the Blender Plug-in will not start on the M1 computers.

It was a crazy day yesterday :D
Standalone, Render-Node, and plugins PR8 have been loaded on the Downloads server, and for the first time, Standalone Octane X is also available in Apple App Store :D

Almost there, we need to wait for the first version based on new upcoming 2021.1 SDK.

It's been a long wait, but finally I have Octane X rocking all three GPUs in my Mac Pro! Thanks for the year's Enterprise subscription (was easy to get and install). Everything seems to be working just fine!

Can anyone recommend a solution for running 2 GPUs on a Macbook Pro 2019?
I already have a Razer eGPU with Radeon VII and it works great.
Considering daisy-chaining to another eGPU, but seems like an expensive route

Is PR8 supposed to run native on M1? Because on my Macmini, it doesn't. Runs in Rosetta mode.
I guess I have to wait? I see my 1 year subscription will be a wait-subscription.
But today they announced you dont need studio sub, the new prime sub is for free. WTF?

@ Weezer: Great :D

@ atoyuser1: I have a solution, but it is not very elegant :D
You need to take this guy here:
https://www.akitio.com/expansion/node-duo

Then remove the cover, and modify the fan position to be able to mount 2x full length GPUs:

Then use an external PSU for powering the GPUs:

It is quite a mess for the cables, but it works great, and super silent :D

@ ikolaicable and Emone: please write to [email protected]

M1 chip support is still experimental for now, and PR8 still needs Rosetta 2.

Happy Mac GPU rendering,
