Hello

You can delete my first posts as it was about iMac Octane rendering. Well I'm so impressed I've ordered a great Ryzen with 2 RTX 3080's to get the rendering speeds that I see from the guy in the tutorials.

Im going to be rendering single high res images like A3, not movies with lots of frames. So I want to know if I can take advantage of Enterprise/RNDR (Ultimate Bundle) or if that's for movie makers??

Until I can get some advice I don't want to buy Octane but I've got the demo on my iMac for 27 days and my Ryzen isn't arriving until mid March, so theirs no real rush but id like to know what is best for my needs. If I can earn points by giving access to RNDR to use on single high res renders that would be Fantastic :)

Thanks
ant...

Hi,
about licenses, if you don't have more than 2x GPUs and you're not interested in Net rendering, you can buy an annual Studio subscription for € 199 or pay € 19.99 monthy:
https://home.otoy.com/render/octane-ren ... ns/#studio

If you have more than 2x GPUs and you need Net rendering, you can buy an annual Enterprise subscription for € 299 or pay € 29.99 monthly:
https://home.otoy.com/render/octane-ren ... enterprise

So, in your case, the Studio subscription should be enough

Please note that all new subscriptions offer you the possibility to use any type of Octane DCC plug-in, including C4D, or Maya, OctaneX and ORC/RNDR cloud rendering services (render credits need to be purchased separately).

Thanks again Beppe. Looks like your the man on here :)

Please Note ive learned and forgotten 3dsmax twice, learned and forgotten C4D three times, all due to slow frustrating rendering and getting busy with Photoshop work. I watched Ariev Visuals tutorial and imediatly knew I Had to have those render speeds and quality in my life! So ive put a large deposit down on a Ryzen and RTX 3080 GPU which should be here about mid April

So I want Octane on my iMac and Ryzen in C4D so the Studio 2 GPU will do for now.

Im hoping that my new RTX 3080 will be capable of almost instant screen view port renders (1000x500px) just for learning like in Ariev's tutorial, as long as my scenes are pretty basic, or will I need to stack more 3080 cards for that????

Beppe - Can I leave my Ryzen with RTX 3080 connected to Otoys RNDR cloud rendering to earn credits? Is that how it works? Also can cloud rendering help with very high res renders.

Question
My friend who uses all 3d apps and all CPU renderers says he renders at A0 with Vray & Corona and reduces the size to A3 to get the best quality, sounds mad to me but I know nothing in comparison. So if A0 is necessary could I use cloud render to render parts of my image?, like how C4D used each core to render a little square, could my GPU render one little square and the cloud do many more or is that not how GPU rendering works?

Last question Beppe - Ive seen your Titan link with the PSU, I wish id known about that earlier before spending £3.5k but im still looking forward to the Ryzen 3d machine. Sorry got carried away. How much quicker is that eGPU than your built in AMD GPU?? Id like to know so I can work out if its worth me buying one aswell as my Ryzen???, just cos I love Apples? Please tell me your eGPU's OB score?

Thanks allot mate, your posts are so very revealing

Hi,
about mining in RNDR, please have a look at here:
https://help.otoy.com/hc/en-us/articles ... ining-Side

About rendering in RNDR, please have a look at here:
https://help.otoy.com/hc/en-us/articles ... tist-Side-

About A0 reduced to A3, it is an old technique used in the past also with OctaneRender, but now with AI Denoiser seems quite useless to me

The rendering speed of the GPU does not change if internal or in an eGPU box, what is changing is the loading time of the scene.
Here are some preliminary results of the currently supported AMD GPUs under Big Sur 11.1:

- Radeon Pro Vega II Duo - 446 OB*
- Radeon Pro Vega II - 223 OB
- Radeon VII - 214 OB
- 5700 XT - 184 OB
- Vega FE - ~174 OB
- Vega 64 -~160 OB
- Vega 56 - ~126 OB
- Vega 48 - 117 OB
- 5600M - 117 OB
- 5500M - 83 OB
- Vega 20 - ~55 OB
- Intel iris 640 - ~ 17
- Intel iris 630 - ~ 15

Happy Mac GPU rendering,
ciao Beppe
