Heya, i'm having a bit of a problem understanding the aov system. Coming from Redshift, i want to render a texture that is used as a layer mask in a layered material as a simple black/white mask. In Redshift this is pretty straightforward. I just don't get how to do this in octane. For example ... where or how do i connect the image texture node to a aov output group or node...?
Does someone know a good tutorial on this? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
for custom AOV passes you need to wait for the upcoming 2021.1 SDK:

For now, you need to use the Take system for creating a special version of the scene with special Composite/Mix material, using the same texture mask, with different IOR settings for the two submaterials, and use the Material pass/IOR Filter to obtain the desired mask:

Ok thanks man, i missed that. For stills i have a workaround with the diffuse pass. For animations i will have to render twice then. Thanks again.
